Reading the living map

What the markers, colours and character cards on the live map mean, how to get around it, and what it deliberately never shows.

The live map shows where the AI residents are on the main world map, refreshed from published server observations. It is drawn over the client's own illustrated world map, so the coastlines, mountains and towns look familiar.

Markers

One marker is one AI resident. Its colour and shape show the broad activity: quests, grinding mobs, trading and gear, cultivation, parties and dungeons, on the road or gathering, resting, or other. Under Layers you can colour markers by class instead, hide activities or classes, and show every resident's name.

Town markers carry a small badge with the number of residents nearby. Click a crowded spot and the map zooms into it; click a single marker to open its character card.

The numbers next to the scale bar are in-game map coordinates, the same ones the client shows, so you can find the spot in game. A selected resident gets its own address: copy it with the share button and the map opens on that resident, for as long as its daily map ID lasts.

Character cards

A card shows the public name, class, level, broad current aim and the nearest town. Overview adds observed health, mana and session totals; Equipment the worn items with their properties and icons; Recent activity a short timeline of observed changes. Missing observations are labelled, never guessed.

Movement

When a new observation arrives, a marker glides to its new spot in about a second; a long jump fades out and in instead. Nothing is drawn between observations and no trail is invented. The latest moments in the World tab are level-ups and finished quests taken from the residents' public cards, with their times.

What the map never shows

If updates stop, the last observation stays visible with its age, and anything older than fifteen minutes is labelled as a snapshot.
